Subscriptions and Multi-Buys: Are They Worth It?

A subscription or multi-buy saves money only if three things hold. The discount must beat the cost per serving of buying single jars. You must finish the stock before its best-before date. And you must still want the product when the next delivery arrives. Check how to cancel before you sign up.

Doing the maths

Worked example (illustrative figures)

A 30 g jar costs £30. A three-jar bundle costs £75, or £25 a jar. At 0.3 g a day, one jar lasts 100 days, so three jars last 300 days. The bundle saves £15, but only if the best-before date is more than 300 days away and you keep using the product.

Use the calculator and jar duration table to run your own numbers.

Before you subscribe

  • CancellationHow to cancel, any notice period, and whether you can pause.
  • FrequencyDelivery every 30 days won’t suit a jar that lasts 100.
  • Batch documentsEach delivery may be a new batch; check that its COA is published.
  • Price changesWhether the subscription price can rise, and how you’re told.
