How Long Does a Jar of Shilajit Last?

Divide the jar’s net weight by your daily serving. A 30 g jar lasts 100 days at 0.3 g a day and 60 days at 0.5 g a day. For capsules, divide the count by the number you take each day. The tables below cover common sizes, and the notes explain why a jar usually runs out a little sooner than the arithmetic suggests.

The formula

Days a jar lasts = net weight (g) ÷ daily serving (g). Check the serving size on your label; 300 mg is 0.3 g.

Resin and powder jars

Days a resin or powder jar lasts at one serving a day
Net weight0.2 g a day0.3 g a day0.5 g a day
15 g75 days50 days30 days
20 g100 days66 days40 days
30 g150 days100 days60 days
50 g250 days166 days100 days
60 g300 days200 days120 days

Rounded down to whole days. Real-world duration is usually a little shorter because some resin stays on the scoop and jar.

Capsule packs

Days a capsule pack lasts
Pack size1 a day2 a day
30 capsules30 days15 days
60 capsules60 days30 days
90 capsules90 days45 days

Check whether the label’s “serving” is one capsule or two before using the table.

Why a jar runs out sooner than expected

  • Inconsistent servingsA “pea-sized” amount can vary several-fold. Weighing keeps servings, and the jar, predictable; see measuring resin consistently.
  • ResidueResin sticks to the scoop, lid and sides, especially in warm rooms.
  • Moisture lossResin can firm up over time, which changes how much you scoop.
  • SharingObvious, but often forgotten when comparing value.

Duration vs shelf life

How long a jar lasts is about use; how long it keeps is about storage and the best-before date on the label. A large jar is only good value if you’ll finish it before that date. Keep it sealed, cool and dry; see how to store resin and shelf life and expiry.

Turning duration into monthly cost

Divide the price by the number of days the jar lasts, then multiply by 30. A £30 jar that lasts 100 days costs £9.00 a month; one that lasts 60 days costs £15.00. The cost-per-gram calculator has ready-reckoner tables, and subscriptions and multi-buys covers when buying in bulk makes sense.
