Editorial Policy

Our editorial policy comes down to five commitments. Every factual claim must trace to a source we can cite. Different kinds of evidence are never merged. Limitations are stated next to findings. Health claims follow the research and UK rules. Commercial relationships are disclosed where they are relevant.

Accuracy and sourcing

Scientific claims are supported by peer-reviewed research, regulatory statements by legislation and official guidance, and product statements by the product’s own documents, labelled as brand-supplied. Our sources policy sets out the full hierarchy.

Keeping evidence types apart

Research on shilajit in general, laboratory reports on a product, brand information, our own purchase tests and customer feedback each answer different questions. We report them separately and never use one to stand in for another; see our evidence rating system.

Health information

We describe what studies found, in whom and with what preparation, and rate topics on a published scale. We don’t claim shilajit treats or prevents disease. See the medical disclaimer.

Commercial relationships

Partnerships with brands are noted on the pages where a partner brand is recommended. How we manage them is in our conflict-of-interest policy and on editorial independence.

Updates, corrections and AI

Pages show an “updated” date, material changes are logged on the updates log, and errors are handled under our corrections policy. How AI tools are used in our work is described on how we use AI.
